How I Make A Full-Time Income Online: Blogging & Youtube

In my opinion, having a “home base” on the internet is a must have for anyone looking to be successful. Your home base could be a blog or website. This is basically just a place to let people know who you are and what you have to offer. A website is something you can fully control and nobody can take that away from you. Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube can all block your account if they don’t like something (it happens all the time).

Having my blog and creating content has allowed me to start building up my brand and following. Trust is a huge part of being successful online, and a blog is a great way to not only build trust but also to make more money. My blog sends people to my kindle books, affiliate offers, and my own products.


When I was 21 years old I started reading a lot of books. Business books, self-development books, and motivational books. I always thought it’d be pretty cool to have a website where I reviewed all the books I was reading and had affiliate links to Amazon. That’s where Passive Income Assignment started.

After I started having success with kindle publishing I thought it’d be a good idea to start sharing some of the strategies I was using to make money. I started creating blog posts about different kindle topics and then put an affiliate link to the kindle course I went through.

I started getting a bit of traction after 4 or 5 months and saw how powerful a blog could be if I put more time into creating content. So that’s what I did. I started looking into content creation strategies and came across a guy called Gary Vaynerchuk. What he talked about is documenting over creation. This simply meant documenting your journey in building your business is a lot more powerful.

That’s when I started documenting everything going on in my business. Strategies, products, goals, etc. Not only did creating content help me remember more of what I was learning, but it also was helping others which was pretty cool.

I quickly learned that helping others do what I was doing was a passion of mine. I had no idea that sharing my journey and what I was learning would have an impact on others. This allowed me to start building up my following and start building relationships with others. This is a super powerful part of having success online.

Have you ever heard the saying, “If you helps others get what they want, you can have what you want?” The way I see things now is the more value I provide the more I’ll get in return.

I just wanna point out that blogging is NOT passive and requires a lot of time. The reason I do it is because I enjoy it. Most of what I do now is creating blog posts and videos. Don’t get involved in blogging if you’re looking for quick income or if it’s not something you want to do for the long run.

Blogging doesn’t feel like work to me, it’s more of a hobby that I plan on doing for the rest of my life. Documenting my journey from zero to a million is a pretty cool thing.



There’s a few different ways I make money with blogging and YouTube. Here’s some of the ways I do that:

  • Kindle books.
  • Affiliate marketing.
  • Information products

When you give someone value and help them solve a problem, most of them will want to know more about you and what you have to offer. I use my kindle books to promote my blog and my blog to promote my kindle books.

I do blog posts and videos about “How To’s” or reviews and sometimes will link relevant products or services that would help them. This is called affiliate marketing. If they end up buying the product I’d receive a commission.

For example, If I did a post on how to make money with kindle publishing I could include a link to the kindle course I went through. Cool right?

I also use my blog to build my email list (your businesses most important asset). This is a list of my subscriber’s email address so I can stay in contact with them. I can share all my new content and even send them affiliate offers.

There’s a bunch of different ways to make money blogging and making videos, and I’ll go through some below.


I’m gonna go through the 8 steps you need to take to start making money with blogging & YouTube. This is what I did and if you follow them and stick with it for the long term you’ll have a lot of success. No doubt about it. Here’s the steps:

Step 1: Pick A Niche You’re Passionate About

  • I can’t stress enough how important it is to be passionate about what you’re blogging about. This is long term thing so make sure you won’t get tired of it after a few months.
  • Make sure there’s a big enough market out there. The big niches are health, wealth, and relationships, but there’s a lot more. Most niches have money to be made but just make sure there’s a decent number of people interested.

Step 2: Pick A Name For Your Blog

  • Make sure blog name is related to the niche you’re in. Mine has Passive Income in it because I’m in the make money niche.
  • A shorter name is better since people can remember.
  • Make sure .com is available.

Step 3: Get Your Domain Name, Hosting, And Set Up WordPress Blog

Step 4: Pick A Theme For Your Blog

  • Pick a theme you like. WordPress has a bunch of free themes you can pick (don’t stress over the look at the start).
  • Get a simple logo created at Fiverr for $5.

Step 5: Start Creating Content

  • This is where the majority of your time should be spent. The more HIGH-QUALITY content you put out the better (at least 1 post per week).
  • Your content needs to be INSANELY good.
  • Don’t talk like a robot. Write like you’re having a conversation with the reader.
  • Turn that blog post into a YouTube video and embed it on your site.
  • The more the better, but make sure it’s good.

Step 6: Share Your Content

  • Start sharing your content on whatever social media platform you’re on.

Step 7: Set Up Email List

  • Create an email opt-in form on your site to start collecting email addresses.
  • Create something to give away for free (E-Book, report, PDF, video, etc) in exchange for their email address.
  • Use NowLifestyle to collect the email and set up an autoresponder sequence (these are automated emails that are sent to people who subscribe).
  • Share new content with the people subscribing to your list.

Step 8: Start Monetizing

  • Once you’re getting a consistent amount of visitors per day you can think about monetizing your site.
  • Don’t start right away because nobody will be visiting your site at the start.
  • Use affiliate marketing, and kindle publishing to start making money.
  • Focus on building your following FIRST and serving them FIRST. Then you can focus on making money. Hard to do but it’s a must.

These are the steps I took to create Passive Income Assignment. It took me a long time and a lot of effort but was definitely worth it!


These are some of the recommended resources for blogging, YouTube and podcasting.

WordPress – The #1 blogging platform in the world, and the current content management system that I use for this blog. It’s 100% free and easy to set up.

Bluehost – This is the hosting service that I recommend and used when first starting blogging. You can get hosting as low as $4.95/month. (Watch: How to create a blog and set it up in minutes)

Namecheap – This is where I buy my web domain names. You can buy .com’s for as low as $9.99. Alternatively, if you sign up for hosting with Bluehost, you receive a free domain for a year.

YouTube – The #1 video website and video search engine in the world, where you can create your YouTube channel and publish videos to for free.

UpWork – This is where I outsource specific tasks or work for my my blog or websites. You can get almost anything done very inexpensively and hire Virtual Assistants as low as $3/hour.

Fiverr – An awesome place where you can get a variety of things done for only $5. I’ve used Fiverr for many small tasks to help me with building my businesses.

Google Analytics – This is what I use to track all of the statistics for my websites, including visitors, traffic sources, etc…

Google Adsense – This is Google’s advertising platform that allows you to place Google ads on your website and start earning money.

Instapage – This is what I use to create high converting landing pages and squeeze pages for my websites to collect e-mail leads.

Panasonic GH4 – This is the current DSLR camera that I use for recording my video blogs.

Sennheiser EW 112 – This is the wireless mic setup that I use for recording my video blogs.

Blue Microphones Yeti USB Microphone – This is the USB microphone I use for recording screen captures or interviews from my computer.

Camtasia – This is the software that I use to record screen capture videos for some of my videos and programs.

The other week the girlfriend and I took a trip over to Campbell River on Vancouver Island to do some Salmon fishing. I’ve been fishing for years in lakes but I’d never really done much ocean fishing before. It was a pretty cool experience.

We went over for 5 days, did 3 days of fishing and 2 days of sight-seeing. The fish didn’t wanna stay off the hook but were only able to keep 5 of them. How To Use Attraction Marketing To Grow Your Business

In this post I’m going to show you How To Use Attraction Marketing in your business because it’s one of the most powerful ways to grow online. A lot of people don’t know how to do this the right way, so I’m gonna try and break it down step by step.

You’ve probably seen the people online who are making huge money every single day but don’t seem to be doing anything special…


So how is it that they’re able to do this while you’re here struggling…

You both could be using the same system, you both went through the same training, or you both are selling the same products. So why are they getting sales and you’re not?


Most people get online, figure out what they’ll be selling and expect to throw up a few videos, or toss money at some traffic source and be rich by tomorrow. Hate to burst your bubble but that ain’t gonna work.

To be successful online, your main goal should be focusing on getting new customers every single day. The best way to do that for your business is to attract them to you…not the other way around.

This is done by attraction marketing.


What is Attraction Marketing?

Attraction Marketing is all about providing value to your target market in ways that will help them solve their problems. The reason why this works is that people only do business with those they know like and trust and if you’re trying to build a business online giving value is the #1 way to build trust in the online business space.

When you give value, people are going to want to know more about what you do and then you can direct them to your link and sales funnel.

This has been my big focus over the last few months and it’s helped make dozens of sales on a weekly basis.

Imagine if you were flooded with emails, messages, and texts from people who want to know what you do and how they can get started…

So, if you’re trying to make $1,000’s online without having to prospect people or bug friends and family, then attraction marketing is definitely for you.

How To Use Attraction Marketing

The first thing you’ll want to do is focus on social media. There are billions of people on social media and if you’re not utilising it you’re just plain dumb. No offence…but it’s the truth.

The big 3 that I’d suggest at the time of this post are Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. I’m more into Instagram & YouTube right now because I like how the platform works.

The 3 ways I get the majority of my leads are:

  1. Facebook
  2. YouTube
  3. Instagram
  4. Kindle Books

So, the way you build an online business is by 1) building an audience and then 2) selling to that audience. The first thing you’ll want to do is start building your following on a social media platform. If you’re just starting out I’d suggest picking 1 platform to start and master that. I see so many people trying to be on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Periscope, Snapchat, and whatever new thing comes along.

This is a terrible strategy because you’ll burn yourself out before you start to gain traction. Instead, pick 1 to start, learn it, grow it, and then move onto the next.

After that, you’ll wanna look at who you want to market to. Don’t try to be everything for everyone. Come up with your ideal customer, and focus marketing to them (and only them). Generally, I like marketing to people similar to myself because I can relate.

Next, you’ll want to make sure your profiles are all set up correctly. They need to be clean and organised, have a good description or bio, and have a good picture of yourself. Have a picture of yourself outside doing something cool or with a nice view.

You need to pick what way you want to brand yourself and stick to that. Some examples could be a lifestyle entrepreneur, family person, traveller, etc. Something to make yourself stand out and make certain people want to follow you. Don’t try to attract everyone.

Let’s get into each social media platform:


I don’t do too many free methods with Facebook but the majority of my traffic comes from Facebook ads. I’ll cover the free method a lot of people have success with.

What you’ll wanna do on Facebook is start connecting with like minded people. There are literally thousands of people who are interested in your niche and what you have to help them. So, the first thing you’ll have to do is start connecting and building your friends list.

Go to a popular person or company page in your niche and start looking at who is engaging with their posts. Look at who’s liking and commenting and add 5-10 of these people every single day.

Once they accept your friend request you’ll want to start connecting with them. DO NOT MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS. Nobody wants to hear that from someone they don’t know. Instead, ask them questions about what they’re doing. Ask about their business, about their strategy, if they’re online or offline, or whether they travel lots. Just be sure to focus on them.

Don’t show any sign that you’re trying to sell them something because they’ll pick up on it quick. Have a normal conversation, build the connection, and have fun. The way you can bring them into your business is by using attraction marketing.

How you do this is by posting on your page. You’re gonna post results, lifestyle, value, and leave a call to action saying comment below or click the link if you want to learn more. And by doing that, a lot of these people will reach out to you to learn more. It’s really that simple…

If you don’t have any results to post, all you have to do is post value. Value can be quotes, motivational videos, or something you just learned. You should be constantly learning, applying what you learned, and then teaching it to others.

Just remember to NOT post about your business or opportunity. Focus on branding yourself, showing results, lifestyle, and teaching…and people will ask what you do.

If someone responds send them a message asking why they want to learn more about XYZ. Have a brief conversation with them and send them to the video.

The most important part of this strategy is being consistent. Post and connect EVERY SINGLE DAY.


Instagram is one of my favorite ways to attract people these days because it’s pretty simple to show up in front of the people you want. Instagram is mostly pictures but you can also post 1-minute videos which are pretty cool.

The whole goal of Instagram is to get your posts on the explore page. This is the “popular” page that you see when you tap the little search button on the bottom. Those pictures that show up are on the explore page. You wanna be there.

So, just like Facebook, you’ll want to post results, lifestyle, and value. Some ideas for posts are motivation pictures and quotes, books you’re reading, where you’re traveling, etc. Put in a caption just like you would on Facebook, and use hashtags related to your niche.

You can put up to 30 hashtags in each post. You should pick 20-30 hashtags that are related to your business and brand. For example, in the entrepreneur niche there’s #entrepreneur, #lifestyle, #motivation, #lawofattraction, etc. You can search Google for the top hashtags for each niche.

Post your picture with a good caption and put the hashtags in the very first comment.

If you don’t have a lot of followers you won’t get a lot of likes on your posts at the start, same with any platform. You have to be consistent with it to grow your following. Keep grinding and the results will start compounding.

The strategy for YouTube is similar to Facebook, but instead of posts, you’ll be posting videos. Post videos about how to do something, results, or lifestyle and leave a call to action with your link.

What should you videos be about?

A lot of people struggle with picking a topic to do a video about, but that’s actually the easiest part. All you have to do is watch a successful person’s video, take notes, and create something similar in your own words.

Again…learn, apply, teach.

All the “gurus” out there did the exact same thing. They didn’t start by knowing everything. They learned from someone, they applied what they learned to their business, and they taught you.

So all you have to do is read books and watch videos, and teach people what you learned.

When I first started with video, I took the 30-day challenge, which meant I would do 30 videos in the next 30 days. I’d never done a video before and was pretty nervous, but after the 30 days, I felt a lot more comfortable. If you’re new to this I’d definitely suggest the 30-day challenge.

Again, the most important thing is to be consistent. Start by creating at least 3 videos per week, then work your way up.


There you have it. That’s my strategy for using attraction marketing to grow your business online. My results didn’t really go anywhere until I started using this technique to get leads. When I first started I was like most people, expecting to just throw some money into paid ads and expecting to see results. I quickly learned that doesn’t work.

You need to focus on building your brand FIRST and then attracting people to you instead of prospecting around 24/7. Apply some of these strategies, take action right now, and stay consistent with it and you’ll see results.

Create a 90-day plan for yourself and stick to it. For the next 90 days come up with a game plan for how many videos you want to make, or how many posts to do. At a minimum, you’ll wanna post 1x per day on Facebook or Instagram, and 3x per week on YouTube.

How To Grow Instagram Followers For Business

Hey what’s going on, Jon here and in this post I’m going to show you how to grow Instagram followers for business. One of my goals for this year is to grow my Instagram following to 50,000. I wanted to show you my exact plan for doing this because over the past few months I’ve seen how powerful Instagram can be for growing a business.

No…I’m not just doing this to look “cool”…

I’m doing this because Instagram can provide a huge amount of leads for whatever business you’re in, so it would be completely stupid not to take advantage.

In my opinion, Instagram is the easiest, and best way to grow a business online right now because it’s growing at such a fast pace. And if you’re smart…you’ll copy what I’m doing here in your own business.

Let’s jump into it…

Why Should You Grow Your Instagram?

There’s 2 big reasons why I’m growing my Instagram:

  1. Credibility.
  2. Leads.

Let’s start with credibility. I want you to be real with me for a second. If you see someone with a big following online and get a boatload of likes you think they’re important. Right?

I know 100% that this is true because I think this way as well. If I see someone marketing online, the first thing I’ll do is check their social media account. If I see that they have 10,000+ followers on the gram I’ll pay more attention to what they have to say.

Would you agree?

And obviously, if 1 person has a good sized following and the other doesn’t, I’ll tend to pay more attention to the big guy. That’s the first reason why I’m building my following on Instagram.

If you can show someone that you have a big following online, they’ll instantly respect you more and trust that you know what you’re talking about…

No question about it.

So what’s the second reason?

The second reason to grow a following online is to grow your business and get customers. Instagram has close to a billion users at the time of this post and it’s pretty easy to get in front of them if you have a good following and get a lot of likes.

Whenever you make a post you can put different hashtags in to have your picture show up for. If you get enough likes and comments on that post your picture will show on the explore page for millions of people to see.

That’s pretty damn powerful if you ask me.

And again, it comes back to credibility. If you get these posts in front of people, but you only have a few hundred followers, nobody will take you seriously…

That’s why you first need to build the credibility and authority factor.

So how do you start building your Instagram account?

2 Ways To Build Your Instagram

There’s 2 different ways with how to grow Instagram followers for business. One is way better than the other, and I know because I’ve tried both. Here they are:

  1. The slow way (organic).
  2. The fast way (paid).

Let’s start with the slow way. This is what most “gurus” teach people to do. Create an account, post 4-5 times per day, follow people who like authorities in your niche, like & comment on their stuff, etc. You’ve probably heard this before?

And yeah it does work and this is the way I started but guess what…

It took my like 5 months of posting 3x per day to build a following of 5500 people. At this pace, it’ll take years to gain the credibility I’m looking for, and not only that but it’ll take a lot of work on my part.

Obviously, if you don’t have much of a budget to work with this would be your best bet, but for me, I’d way rather post 1x per day and potentially grow my following to 100,000 in a month.

What sounds better to you?

The fast way is what I’ve switched to and I’d never go back to the old way of doing things. This strategy will cost you a bit (but honestly isn’t that bad) and you’ll get there much quicker. Now I’m not saying to go buy a bunch of fake followers…because that’s an option as well.

I’m saying, pay a bit of money to build your credibility quick by getting REAL FOLLOWERS (I’ll show you how in a sec) and your business will grow quick.

Once you have people following you and liking your posts, it’ll be way easier to show up on the explore page for millions to see…but you need the followers and likes first.

Here are some steps…

Step 1: Create your Instagram account. For most people I suggest branding yourself vs your company or website. This means you’ll want to create an account that’s called “yourname”.

Step 2: Create your profile. Have a good picture of yourself and a few bullets about about yourself. Some examples could be “Entrepreneur”, “Coach”, “Fitness Enthusiast”, “Traveller”, etc. You’ll then want to link back to your website (preferably an opt-in page).

Step 3: Start creating high quality pictures on the niche you’re in. If you’re in the make money niche, post pictures about lifestyle shots, motivational quotes, etc. Don’t post about your cat. Stick to your niche. You could also take pictures from other people in your niche and tag them in your caption.

Step 4: Come up with 20-30 of the most relevant, searched for hashtags in your niche. You can simply search “yourniche hashtags” on Google, or look what authorities are using. Post these hashtags in the very first comment after you post

Step 5: Start gaining REAL followers and likes as quick as possible. If you do the organic way it’ll take a long time but you’ll slowing gain followers by posting cool pictures and using hashtags (3-5 posts per day using organic method). And that’s the basic process on how to grow your Instagram followers. Your entire goal is to get your pictures to show up on the explore page for relevant hashtags in your niche. And the only way you can do that is by establishing yourself as an authority by gaining a lot of followers and likes per post.

Welcome to my Amway MLM Review.

I’ve been hearing a lot about this company over the past little bit and decided it’s time to check it out for myself.

If you’re here you probably have heard about the Amway scam or were approached by someone promoting it.

Let’s jump into it.

Amway MLM Review

Amway was created in 1959 by two people, Rich Devos and Jay Can Andel. They always wanted to own their own business and to this day it’s the highest revenue network marketing company out there.

The Product Line

Amway has a large range of products. Everything from health to cleaning supplies.

Of all the mlm companies out there, Amway has one of the largest product lines out there.

The products seemed to be on the expensive side, but they say it’s because of the quality and research that goes into the development of these products.

Overall, I don’t see anything “scamey” going on here, just the products are pricey that’s all.

Like all network marketing companies, you get paid to sponsor people into the business. So next, let’s look at their compensation plan in our Amway review.

Amway Review – Compensation Plan

The whole goal is to sponsor people and have them get the same results as you. If your team can’t produce any results you won’t have much success.


After looking into the company, I’m pretty confident in saying it’s NOT a scam, it’s NOT a pyramid scheme, and IT IS legit. It wouldn’t be around for so long if it was a scam…

It’s NOT a pyramid scheme because it actually has products that you can sell. Every network marketing company out there has been called a pyramid scheme or scam because people join, do nothing and expect the world, and don’t see results.

If you put in the time and effort you will have success in Amway, or any other company out there.

There are a lot of Amway reviews out there trashing the company, but the truth is the company is a good company.

The problem is most people join and expect to make a million dollars overnight. When that doesn’t happen they bash it and call it a scam. You need to have the right mindset going in.

Welcome to my M Network MLM review!

I’ve been hearing a lot about this company recently so I decided to look into it a bit.

And if you’ve been online for any amount of time you’ve probably heard of M Network or have been approached by someone promoting something similar?

In this post I’m gonna walk you through the company, products and compensation plan for the M Network MLM.

Then you can finally decide whether or not it’s for you…

What Is M Network MLM?

M Network was created by a guy named Kerry Brown who calls himself the “headmaster” on their corporate website.

He started network marketing back in 2005 with a company called Xango.

Then he was hired as the Director of Marketing at Limu and stayed there for 2 years.

In February of 2015, he became the Chief Marketing Officer at Stream.

He left and decided to create M Network.

Overall, he definitely knows what he’s doing and has been involved in the business for a while now.

In order to qualify for commissions you must generate at least 60 sales per month as an affiliate.

Retail Payout

You’ll get paid when you sell their products to customers.

You buy the products at wholesale and sell them at retail prices and earn profit.

You earn about $5 per box.

Commission Payout

Every time you bring in a new member in M Network that buys a retail pack, you can get commissions on that.

The amount of commission will depend on which package they buy:

  • Sponsoring a $199 retail pack affiliate pays a $75 commission
  • Sponsoring a $499 retail pack affiliate pays a $150 commission

If you’re able to get 8 people in your business in 8 weeks, and they buy one of those product packs, you can get another $250 ($199 pack) or $500 ($499 pack).

Residual Payout

Residuals are paid through a multi level compensation plan.

Here’s how it works:

  • You
  • Level 1:  Personally enrolled members
  • Level 2:  Level 1’s personally enrolled members
  • And so on…

The plan is 12 levels and pays you 5% of the sales volume generated through those levels.

Residual Commission Pay out

Recurring commissions are also paid through a 2×12 compensation plan structure.

Again, you are paid 5% of the sales volume generated.

Now you get paid only certain levels depending on your overall group volume:

  • 0 to 479 GV = Qualified to earn on levels 1 to 4 of the matrix
  • 480 to 1999 GV = Qualified to earn on levels 1 to 6 of the matrix
  • 2000 to 4999 GV = Qualified to earn on levels 1 to 8 of the matrix
  • 5000 to 49,999 GV = Qualified to earn on levels 1 to 9 of the matrix
  • 50,000 to 99,999 GV = Qualified to earn on levels 1 to 10 of the matrix
  • 100,000 to 199,999 GV = Qualified to earn on levels 1 to 11 of the matrix
  • 200,000 GV or more = Qualified to earn on levels 1 to 12 of the matrix

Golf, Hockey, And Marketing?

So, tomorrow I’m taking part in a golf tournament.


And the reason I play golf is because I’m sick and tired of having to skate up and down the cold ice almost killing myself…


I’d way rather sit in a nice golf cart, sippin a cold beer, and hanging out in the sun. You probably would agree?


Anyway, I have to go get some practice pretty soon, and as of right now, I’ve got a mad slice going on with my driver (hitting the ball right).


Good thing I’ve been doing this for a while now, and have some pretty awesome adjustment skillz.


Anyway, in about an hour, I’m gonna run over to the driving range, and within thirty to forty minutes I’ll have this thing fixed (hopefully). Then tomorrow, I’m gonna get to step up to that opening tee with a bunch of guys who’ve been doing this longer than I’ve been alive.


…And their ONLY goal is to make me look like a fool.


And I can’t wait!

[True Story] He Flushed 1 Million Down The Toilet Today

So, yesterday I was out for lunch with a buddy of mine…


He was just getting started with his online business, and I was really excited because I had an awesome idea for him.


My idea had to do with golf, and I knew it would be perfect for him because he was a big golfer.


Now, I play golf quite a bit, and I knew there’s a huge market there, but It wasn’t for me right now.


I just had this crazy idea a couple days ago but I knew it was a home run.


So, while we were waiting for our food, I grabbed a couple napkins, asked the waiter for a spare pen, and started drawing out this “home run” idea.


I showed him a few similar successful websites…


Sketched out a sales funnels that were converting for these sites…


How they were most likely getting traffic to their offer…


And what it would take for him to get started.


Armed with all this information, he was pretty fired up…


He was seeing the potential (and rightfully so – this has the potential to become a million dollar business for gods sake). Yet, for some reason, he was still full of excuses…


He seemed ready to get started until I mentioned one thing…


The startup cost!


I told him that in order to get up and running he’d probably have to put up around one-thousands bucks.


Getting the website set up, landing page software, email automation service, and any training he might need.


Here’s his response:


“Look, I’ve already put in a hundred bucks to learn about this stuff…I don’t want to have to spend any more money on this…”


I tried to explain, “Look…wouldn’t it be worth putting in a few more hundred to potentially build a million dollar business…”


I thought that was pretty funny, but what happened next was just sad.


He said, “Yeah, but, I’d rather just stick to what I’ve been working on and keep costs low”.


Now, while he was right about not giving up on what he was doing…


He was COMPLETELY WRONG about how he was approaching this.


Early on, I realized that there were two ways to get success…


The first is to spend years failing, spending, and adjusting till something works.


The second is to pay someone at the start to show you exactly what works and skip the years of failing.


Either way…you’ll end up spending money…so why would you spend years failing.




These are the things you CAN’T learn in a book…


These are the things I try to bring to the table when you partner with me.


My goal is not to teach more stuff…it’s to make you more money.

How To Market Your Business On Instagram

Over the past few months my number 1 marketing strategy has been Instagram. In this post I’m going to show you how to market your business on Instagram and get some super cheap leads for your business.

One of my goals for this year is to grow my Instagram account to 50,000 followers. I’m not doing this to look cool or anything like that, I’m doing it because it’s a great way to drive traffic to my business.

I’ve tried a bunch of other traffic sources, Facebook, solo ads, etc, and I’ve found that Instagram works best for me and the cost per lead is way lower.

I’ve been able to spend $15 and get 65 leads into my business, and a lot of those leads ended up purchasing something. The reason I like Instagram is because it doesn’t require you to follow stupidly vague guidelines that Facebook and Google have.

So how does it all work? Okay, let’s get into it.

Step 1

The first thing you’ll need to do is create an Instagram account and set up your profile. You’ll want to post a bio and a profile picture. Your picture should either be a logo or a picture of you.

Your bio will want to have 3 things. A couple words or phrases that tell people what your business or page will be about. For example, mine is “motivation, passive income, and lifestyle”.

Next, you’ll want to have a call to action. Basically, this should be the same copy as your opt-in page headline. For example, my call to action could be “learn how to build a 6-figure business” and my landing page should be the same.

Finally, you’ll want to have a link to your landing page.

Step 2

The next thing you’ll want to do is start putting out content that your audience would like. It depends what niche you’re in, but for me I post lifestyle pictures with motivational quotes. Look at popular pages in your niche and do something similar.

You’ll want to make a list of hashtags related to the niche you’re in as well. Again, you can look at popular pages and see what hashtags they’re using. You can put up to 30 different hashtags on your post. For example, in my niche there’s hashtags like #entrepreneur, #motivation, etc.

When you’re posting your pictures make sure you’re writing a caption and having a call to action. A caption can be the quote in the picture or something else related. A call to action can be something like “double tap if you agree”, “tag a friend”, or “check out the link in my bio to learn xxx”.

You’ll want to post a minimum of 3x per day and build up your account to 1000-5000 followers. This shouldn’t take too long (maybe a month or two).

Step 3

You’ll then want to start following people who are interested in accounts like yours. There’s softwares that can do this for you, but it’s up to you. All you have to do is go to popular accounts like yours and start following their followers. You should follow 15-20 people per hour and like a few of their photos. A lot of the time they will follow you back.

Step 4

Once you have 1000+ followers you’ll want to start promoting your page on bigger accounts in your niche. This is called a shoutout. All you do is contact big accounts in your niche, and pay them to post on their account and link back to yours. A lot of their followers will go over to your page, follow you, and even click on your link and opt-in.

What I like to do is look for accounts with at least 50,000 followers and get them to post either a video or picture and a caption that says “if you want to learn how to make an extra $500 per day check out this cool page => @yourusername.

Generally, I’ll pay someone around $10-20 with an account size between 100,000-200,000. Sometimes I get only a few opt-ins and sometimes I’ll get 50+. Test different accounts and times and keep rolling with the accounts that get your followers/opt-ins.

There you have it…

That’s the simple 4 step strategy to getting leads using Instagram. Obviously the more you spend the quicker you’ll grow but it’s best to go at a pace you’re comfortable with.

If you want to try Instagram out, focus most of your time on it, stay patient, and you’ll start seeing results. Don’t start doing this strategy while you’re also doing Facebook and YouTube, and Google. Focus on 1 or 2 things if you’re new, master them, and then scale up with others.

Email Marketing Online: The 4x ROI Email Funnel That Built My Business

If you’ve been doing business on the internet you probably know how important the process of email marketing online is. The bread and butter of any online business is the email list, so it’s super important to start building one as soon as possible.

But how do you do that?

There are so many different strategies and opinions about what the “best” email marketing follow up series should look like. Some people say: “give so much value they’ll feel obligated to buy from you” and others say: “don’t give free value because it attracts the freebie chasers”.

So what do you do?

Over the past year, I’ve tried a bunch of different strategies, some worked better than others, and some didn’t seem to work very well. But I’ve finally found an email campaign that works for me (might not work for you) and it’s resulted in an ROI of about 4x over 3 months.

What does this mean?

It means that whenever I spent $10 on paid advertising, in 3 months I’ll end up with $40. If you’re doing free marketing obviously your return will be higher, but the downside to that is you can’t really scale free traffic.

The only way you can scale free traffic is by putting in more time creating content. With paid traffic, it makes it pretty simple to scale. Once you find out how much a lead makes you over a certain amount of time, all you have to do is buy leads at a lower cost.

All you have to do is find a traffic source that works and spend more on it. But let’s go back to email marketing.

I’ve found that simple works best for me. I’ve tried complicated landing pages and follow ups, but for me keeping things simple is always better. That’s why my email campaigns and landing pages are super basic.

So let’s get started.

Lead Magnet & Landing Page

Obviously, you’re going to need a lead magnet to offer someone in exchange for their email address. This can be anything from a free eBook to a video. It doesn’t really matter, anything valuable to your audience would work.

For your landing page keep it simple. Have a plain white background with a headline and opt-in box. Don’t have images, bullets, or videos.

Bridge Video

Once they opt-in to your list, have a bridge video that introduces yourself and either talks about the lead magnet they’re getting or pre-sells them on the upcoming offer. Never go from opt-in page to sales page. Bridge the gap to let them know who you are and what they’re going to get from you.


For the emails, as soon as they opt-in, have your autoresponder send them a welcome email that sends them their lead magnet. Keep it simple.

Your whole goal for the first 5-days is to build a relationship and help your subscriber get to know you. You should NOT want to spam them with your offers right away.

You should be sending an email every day over the next 5-days. These 5 emails should cover your backstory, how you hit a wall, the solution you found, and how they can benefit from taking your advice.

After the 5-days are up, you’ll want to send them daily emails. You can either send broadcast emails each day, but I have them loaded in my autoresponder series. What you wanna do here is provide entertainment (tell a story) such as, what happened to you today, stories that teach a lesson, ideas, etc. You don’t need to send them the traditional “value” that most people do.

All your emails need to do is provide entertainment and have 1 or 2 helpful takeaways. And then always relate back to the product or service you’re offering.

It’s really that simple.

Obviously, if they buy one of the offers you’ll want to put them into a different funnel (email list sequence) and offer them more. If someone buys once they’ll buy again.

It’s completely up to you how often you email your list, but as a general rule I like to email them every day for the first 7 days, and then at least 3x a week after that. As long as you’re adding value, people will open your emails.

Why Add Value?

Have you ever been on someone’s list where all they do is pitch offers? How long before you stopped opening their emails? For me, I can’t stand reading pitch after pitch, especially when it’s the same offer for 20 emails.

So, in order to build the relationship, get them to trust you, and keep them opening your emails, you need to show them that you actually care. This is the way you build a long term business.

Focus on the long-term value of your leads. Stop focusing on the immediate return.

What To Send For Value?

The thing most people don’t understand about value is that it can still make you money. Most people think you have to give away your best content for free, but that’s not the case.


Your emails should be like a tv sitcom. They should be entertaining, provide a few takeaways, and relate back to your offer. They don’t have to be about anything specific. Talk about something interesting in your life, what you’ve been doing,

How To Get Leads?

The first thing you’ll need to do is find out the value of each lead. There’s a bunch of different ways to do this but let’s keep it simple. Over the next 3 months take how much you’ve made and divide it by the number of leads you’ve brought in.

Let’s say you got an average of $8 per lead. All you have to do now is acquire leads for less than $8. Easier said than done but you get the point.

You can get leads from Facebook, Instagram, Google, solo ads, etc. That’s not what this post is about, but there’s a ton of different ways to get leads.

Again, keep it simple. Pick one or two sources of traffic and master those. The worst thing you can do is try to be everywhere at the start. Pick one or two, master those, and then you can move on.

Email Marketing Online Next Step?

Now that your landing page & lead magnet are created, and your email follow-up is set up, it’s time to start driving traffic. That’s all you need to focus on now. Just focus on acquiring leads for less than your 3-month lead value, find a traffic source that works, and then scale it to the moon.

You now have a 6-figure business using email marketing online. Congrats.
