Resources

Over the years, I’ve used a lot of resources to start and grow my online business.

I’ve gone through everything from online courses, seminars, tools/software, and read countless books to help me grow my online business and make money on the internet. I thought it would be helpful to create this resource page to help you with your business.

I’ll be adding bonuses for some of the resources below. If you buy through the links below (my affiliate links) and I’ve included a bonus, simply shoot me a message on Facebook or email me jon [@] passiveincomeassignment.com after you’ve purchased.

Bonus #1 is free access to all my current and future ebooks. Some of them include Kindle publishing, affiliate marketing, blogging, YouTube, paid ads, and more. If I put “Bonus #1” next to something below, you’ll get the ebooks if you purchase the resource.

Bonus #2 is free lifetime access to The Branding Academy video course. This course will go more in-depth with building an online brand around your passions that leverages Kindle publishing, affiliate marketing, Youtube, blogging, email marketing, etc. I’ll continue adding new content to this course over time. If I put “Bonus #2” next to something below, you’ll get the course if you purchase the resource.

The Must Haves

Essential #1: Siteground Website Hosting (Bonus #1)

The very first thing you should do when starting your online business is building your website. It’s super easy to do and doesn’t cost much. This is what you’ll use to attract people to you and your brand, build connections and sell products. Definitely a must-have.

All of my websites are hosted on Siteground. Why? Because it’s super simple and straightforward to get your site up and running quickly with their 1-click WordPress install.

You can use your Siteground account to host multiple domains so there’s no need to pay for additional websites you might create. Also, they have the best customer service by far (better than Bluehost & Hostgator).

Click here for a video tutorial on setting up your site in 8 minutes.

Essential #2: Clickfunnels Sales Funnel (Bonus #2)

The next thing you’ll need to do is start your email list. It’s your business’s most important asset. You’ll be able to collect your audiences email addresses so you can stay in contact with them, build the connection, send them to all your new content, and sell more product.

The first step is to create your sales funnel using Clickfunnels. This is the tool that allows you to collect your audiences email. Clickfunnels is by far my favorite tool for setting up opt-in pages and funnels.

Essential #3: SendShark Autoresponder (Bonus #2)

Step 2 in building your email list is having an email marketing service. It’ll allow you to store everybody’s email, set up your autoresponder, and send an email to everyone with 1-click.

Sendshark is my number one recommendation for managing my email list. Sendshark makes everything so much easier and it’s extremely user-friendly.

They have the cheapest plan by far ($25/month for 50,000 subs), deliver way better than Aweber or Getresponse and have a free trial.

Courses I’ve Been Through & Recommend

Affilorama Affiliate Marketing Training (Bonus #2)

This is the affiliate marketing course I went through when first getting started and definitely learned a lot. If you’re serious about affiliate marketing (selling other peoples products), I highly recommend getting some sort of training from someone who’s already successful. You’ll learn all that in the course and they also give you done-for-you lead magnets, capture pages, autoresponders, and content ideas, which is a pretty cool bonus.

Watch this webinar to learn the full details.

Amazon FBA Ninja Course (Bonus #2)

This is probably the most in-depth course on learning Amazon FBA out there. If you’re interested in Amazon FBA it’s an absolute must to take some sort of course in my opinion. With other business models like affiliate marketing there’s little risk getting started but with FBA you need to invest a bit of money. There are so many little things that can go wrong that’ll cost you hundreds of dollars and months of your time so it’s important you learn all the small details the first time.

Watch this webinar to learn the full details (use promo code “Ninja250” to get $250 off).

Kindle Money Mastery (Bonus #1)

Kindle publishing is the first online business I got started with and this is the first course I went through to learn. It’s one of my favorite business models because it’s so easy to get started making money online with little to no investment. If you don’t know, Kindle publishing is when you put out books on Amazon (ebook, paperback, audiobook). You can either pay someone $80-150 to write a book for you or you can do it yourself. I’ve done both so it’s up to you. This course will teach you everything you need to know to get started.

Shopify Ninja Course (Bonus #2)

This is probably the best training program out there for learning how to build an eCommerce business on Shopify that actually makes money. There are so many courses out there on how to do this but this one is by far the most straightforward and in-depth. It’s not super basic like a lot of other ones out there and it’ll cover a lot of advanced strategies.

Watch this webinar to learn more (use promo code “Ninja250” to get $250 off).

Facebook Ads Course (Bonus #2)

If you’ve ever done advertising online you’ve probably tried Facebook ads. Chances are you probably didn’t have much success with it (the same thing happened with me). Most people teach the same techniques of targetting all these different interests but guess what? That’s NOT how they run their own ads and that’s why you’ve failed before. This course teaches what the successful people are actually doing and not the BS they’re teaching.

Business Tools I Use & Recommend

Teachable (Bonus #2)

This is the service I use to sell courses and eBooks. I don’t have to do any technical setting up or integrate payment processors or any of that stuff. Teachable takes care of everything. All I have to do is upload my book file or course videos and the rest is taken care of.

TubeBuddy (Bonus #1)

This is the tool I use for YouTube that helps find keywords and titles to rank for. The best way to grow on YouTube is to find keywords and topics people are searching for that have little competition. If you’re able to rank for certain keywords you’ll get your video suggested beside other popular videos. The tool I use to find the best keywords is Tubebuddy. They have a free version for you to try as well.

My Favorite Books

Expert Secrets (Bonus #1)

This is a must-read book if you have a business online. It’s Russell Brunson’s second book and it’ll show you how to find your message, build your tribe, and get people to pay you for your advice. Doesn’t matter what niche you’re in. People are interested in learning what you know and will pay for it. Plus, it’s completely FREE. All you have to do is cover the shipping and handling.

Dotcom Secrets (Bonus #1)

This is another must-read book by Russel Brunson. It’s his first book and it’ll show you how to take your business to the next level by increasing traffic, conversions, and sales. Definitely, an awesome book that I’ve read a few times. If you’re selling products online (your own or other peoples) you gotta check out this book. Plus, it’s completely FREE. All you have to do is cover the shipping and handling.

Audible

The majority of the books I read these days are audiobook form and the company I use to get them is Audible. I have well over 100 books from them and you can get 2 free books when you sign up for a trial.

Video Equipment I Use

MacBook Air

This is the computer I use to run my business on. I had a PC before and I’d never go back to one. The Mac is way more user-friendly and I never have to deal with the headaches of a Windows.

Canon 70D With Rode Shotgun Mic

This is the camera and mic I use to record videos. If you’re brand new I probably wouldn’t suggest spending a bunch of money on a camera. Using your phone is good enough to get started. As your business grows and you start making money, then you can spend more on equipment. Definitely like this camera though.

QuickTime Player

This is the software I use to record my screen for videos. Does the job and is easy to use. It comes free with your Mac but not sure if it’s available for PC.

iMovie

This is the editing software I use to edit my videos. Again, it comes free with your Mac.

Additional Resources

Coinbase

This is the easiest cryptocurrency exchange to use to buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin. You can get $10 worth of free Bitcoin when you buy $100 through the link above. They’re also insured so all your cryptocurrency will be safe.

Click here for a video walkthrough.

Ledger Nano S Wallet

This is the wallet I use to store my cryptocurrency. Even though Coinbase is safe to store your crypto on, it can only hold 4 coins. The Ledger Nano can hold a lot more coins and is offline so nothing can be hacked.
